The building on Main Street houses room 104 to 106. This is where our Director's office is located. Ages three to 12 spend their time here. We call this the "front building."
The building on Starret Street houses room 101 to 103. The little ones from six weeks to three years spend their time here. We call this the "back building."
This is room 101 and 102. Ages six weeks to 12 months attend this classroom. Babies are determined athletes, pushing themselves to the limit. They act as true scientists, constantly testing their environment! Teachers help babies with large motor skills, crawling and learning to laugh.
This is room 103 and hosts ages 12 - 30 months. Here, your child is advancing from infancy toward the preschool years. During this time, we nurture intellectual, social, and emotional development. This is the time to practice walking, using sippy cups, eating meals at a table and start potty training.
This is room 104 and hosts ages 18 months - 3 years old. Your child will become confident in their ability to meet new challenges! This sense of personal power evolves from having successful experiences in solving problems independently and being creative.
This is room 105 where ages three to five attend. Here, teachers provide your child with Creative Curriculum-based language, science, and math lessons that will help prepare them for regular school. Your child will have many opportunities for free play both inside and outside on our playground.
This is room 104 where ages four to six attend. Playing, singing, and hands-on activities such as drawing, and social interaction are all part of the transition from home to full time school. Your child will have many opportunities for free play both inside and outside on our playground.
This is room 106 and is for kids five to 12 years of age. Here, the social network gains more importance. A good group of peers creates life long friendships. We offer before and after school care too.
This summer only event is held in room 106 and is for kids five to 12 years of age. Here, the children take field trips to local parks, local pools and more!
Year after year, we have parents that come back for the summer program because their child specifically asked to come back! The Lancaster pool is always a student favorite.
Sunny Side provides secular education which means we are not a part of a church. We welcome families and teachers of all backgrounds.
Parents have a fundamental right to make decisions regarding the upbringing of their children. Instruction on politics, religion, gender identity and orientation does not belong in the ages that are in our care. It is up to each family to decide if and when to introduce these sensitive and personal topics.
We focus instruction around the following categories for all ages:
Blocks
Manipulatives
Language Arts
Transportation
Sensory Feelings
Physical Exercise
Science and Nature
Music and Movement
Pretend and Dramatic Play
Drawing, Coloring and Painting
There are always childcare staff onsite that are trained in CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse Recognition and Communicable Disease Recognition and Prevention. Also, annual training equips them with the most current and innovative techniques in Early Childhood Education.
